12:54 pm = I just found out that my cousin in London passed away of Heart Failure due to flue like symptoms that were giving him complications.

1:21 am = Due to the Olympics, Coachella and various concerts in March/April. Even though my B-day was on March 8th, I will still be having a B-day party, however, it will be in May. Invitations and a Facebook invite will be sent out in the next few weeks. Theme TBA. Possibly aiming for a Transformers themed B-day party or a Canadian music themed B-day with a Metric B-day cake.

6:15 pm = At Superstore with Gareth. Is it a coincidence that there are no more steak cuts in the meat isle? Happy steak and BJ day to all my male friends. Gareth will be getting his later :P

8:00 pm = Someone is happy with their BJ, wait until the steak.

10:47 am = Gareth gave me the best B-day present ever, pics to follow. A new turn table. I am listening to the new Green Day recording on Vinyl = totally awesome.

11:16 pm = I got my b-day gift from my best friend, after he made fun of me for only buying $4 with of music related trinkets from the record shop (says I pulled a TDM). It’s a dehydrator for making apple and banana chips, however, I can’t seem to find the “on” button.

11:51 pm = As a romantic gesture Gareth typed out the entire “Fire Cat” story on his Iphone and sent it to my Facebook account, the most romantic and thoughtful thing that someone has done for me.

1:40 am = I wear this necklace around my neck so that I feel that you’re with me all the time. That feeling keeps me grounded, sane and safe.

10:14 pm = I just logged on to Ticket master and I got 2 GA's tickets using the CFOX presale code: final. Total cost for two $215 which is better than I thought that it would be to be honest. GA Iron Maiden w/Dream Theatre = awesomeness. This is why god invented the “refresh” button for the PC.

10:18 am = Heard the new Joey Mac single. It is so heavily auto tuned that it sounds horrible which is sad ‘cause he is a talented singer. I don’t know what is more sad: How bad the new J-mac single is or that my best friend heard it before me.

11:24 pm = Bought my ticket for Video Games live. Created a Facebook event.

12:00 pm = McShits is giving free coffee away between March 1 – 14th. I don’t drink coffee, however, it was free. I am not regretting it. I am wired and I have a tummy ache.

8:07 pm = Just heard that Iron Maiden is playing GM Place June 27th = OMG so awesome. Another great band opening up is Dream Theatre which I think is awesome. The shitty thing is that Dream Theatre is Josh’s favorite band, however, I doubt that he would be buying tickets right on the on-sale nor do I think that he would buy GA tickets for the mosh pit. Great band, however, my night would be ruined having to bump into him there.

8:09 pm = Yesterday I scored the new Green Day album for $8. This CD has been on sale for months for $15 and then all of a sudden a HUGE price drop at HMV to $8. On the same note I bought Mika’s first album for $8 and his new one for $10 at HMV.

8:16 pm = Premature, however, createdwww a Facebook event for the Iron Maiden show: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?invites&eid=339639122935

9:02 pm = The pink dress that I got from ebay, I received it and it looks horrible. I found a way better dress which is black and pink stripped. Will show pics later. As for the other dress. After a conversation with my best friend, his idea, not mine, I’m going to make Pickles a pink dress and as pink bow in his hair. This will teach him a lesson for sneaking in my house.

9:04 pm = Pink dress..check, neon pink nail polish…check, neon pink hair…check, heart shaped glass necklace…check, bright pink eyeshadow..check. Goth prom = pricessless. I wish it was Saturday already.

9:06 pm = I bought a few more CD’s from HMV earlier. The new Muse album for $10 and the new BNL album for $10. Still in shock over the Green Day album dropping dramatically for $8.

7:39 am = I’ve moved on with my life, he needs to move on with his. How pathetic is his existence if he thinks that everything I do is ‘cause or for him at this point?

3:00 pm = Watched the Hockey Game with Gareth. Canada VS. US. One of the most intense hockey games ever. When US scored 10 seconds to end of third period for a tie, everyone went silent. I wanted to vomit in nerves. When we finally one, I lost my voice and taunted the Americans in attendance.

4:00 pm = Watching Shutter Island at Metrotown. I dozed off in the middle of the movie on Gareth’s shoulder.

Gareth bought me a just because present from Home Sense.

What: INXS
Where: BC Place Stadium
When: February 24, 2010
Status: It looked full, with many walk outs later.
Rating: 3 out of 5

My best friend and I got into the show for $30 each, below my target price. The value of the show was just that, $30 if not less mainly do to JD Fortune which I will get into later.

The show started right at 7:20 pm on the dot, after the medal ceremony, which was very un-rockstar. We missed a few bars of the opening song, “Suicide Blond” thanks to the rather unnecessary airport style security check and the maze of a walk to BC Place.
Surprisingly the sound was actually decent for BC Place mostly due to the fact that they only used a 3rd of the stadium for the show.

Most walked out after the medal ceremony as the elderly were scared of the noise that INXS produced on stage. The crowd consisted of tourists who bought their tickets before INXS were announced as the Victory Ceremony band for that day. There were a few genuine INXS fans amongst the herd of Canadian flags, red Olympic gloves, and merchandise from “The Bay.”

“Original Sin” had an extremely odd mix, listenable but questionable. There were Maracas in the background which made the song sound terrible.

“New Sensation” almost got ruined. They had some chick on stage sing an unplugged version, a country version. I thought to myself, “Oh fuck, one of the best INXS songs, ruined.” I hid my head in shame, only emerging every so often to see the reaction on my best friend’s face. Thankfully, a verse later, INXS kicked in with the rockin’ version. It was the only that time that I was thankful that JD Fortune took over the mic.

“Beautiful Girl” had an odd unpleasant intro, however, the song was quickly rectified.

The saddest part was the largest sing along was not during the singles but during “Pretty Veags” which made me go “WTF?” You’d think the crowd would be on their feet during “New Sensation,” however, the audience confirmed their addiction to reality TV.

The chemistry between JD and the band was as cold as a freezer in Alaska. There was as much chemistry as Vince Neil and the rest of Motley Crue. During one part of the show, JD tried to put his arm around one of the Farris brothers in which he, the Farris brother in question, literally tried to walk and push him away. OUCH.

What made INXS good, in spite of the show flaws above, was the band themselves. INXS were ridiculously tight for their first gig in two years. Extremely perfect and kicking. This made it worth the $30. JD was just there for comedic relief more than anything. Watching him try too hard was entertaining. It was like watching a bad Vegas side show combined with a desperate Tom Jones impersonator. It was that cheesy.

All INXS have to do is kick JD out of the band, hire Terrance Trent Darby and then they can finally get out of those casinos and start playing theatres and stadiums with other bands on the bill. The bands musicianship have certainly proven that potential.

I went to Chapters and bought a pink bunny plush bookmark. I'm in the middle of reading a book called "Perfume" and I keep losing my page. Now I have a cute bunny to keep it in place.
